Large Format Technical & CAD Printer Onsite Warranty


Introduction
This Express Warranty is in addition to other rights or remedies that You may have under the Act in relation to your Product.


Definitions
In this Express Warranty:

  1. “Act” means the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 as amended.
  2. "Consumable" include (without limitation) ink cartridges cleaning cartridges, maintenance tanks, cutter blades, cleaning wipes, cleaning sticks, cleaning fluid, wiper blades, clamps, tweezers, gloves, cups, caps, pump cap assemblies, flushing pads, and borderless pads.
  3. “Epson New Zealand” means Epson Australia Pty Ltd, trading as Epson New Zealand.
  4. "Quality Refurbished Product" means a refurbished product that's unused or had very little use, except for checking and quality verification by Epson's own service department to ensure it performs properly. These products are sold by Epson New Zealand, and were previously referred to as a Factory Second.
  5. "Genuine" means manufactured by or for a member of the Seiko-Epson group of companies.
  6. "Onsite" means service at your business premises within an 80 kilometre radius from the following cities:-
  1. "Product" means a Genuine Large Format Printer supplied new by Epson New Zealand, being one of the following Epson models:-
  1. "Marketing Initiative" includes any competition or promotion initiated by Epson New Zealand.
  2. "Purchase Date" means the date of a Product’s first purchase from Epson New Zealand or a Stockist.
  3. "Proof of Purchase" means a legible copy of your purchase receipt or invoice for the Product.
  4. "Specifications" means the performance characteristics of a Product set out from time to time on Epson New Zealand’s website.
  5. "Stockist" means an authorised Epson PRO Graphics dealer..
  6. "Service Agent" means a person or a company authorized by Epson New Zealand to repair a Product.
  7. "You" means the End User and “your” has a corresponding meaning.
  8. "User Manual" means a document created by Seiko Epson that provides detailed installation, operation and maintenance instructions.
  9. "Component" means any spare Part or other user replaceable item that forms a part of the Product and which may be replaced from time to time.
  10. "Life Expectancy" refers to the volume of output and age of a Component or Product. The volume and age must be considered together with the final figure dependent on whichever occurs first. The volume based Life Expectancy for Components will vary dependent on its function. The volume based Life Expectancy of a Product is based on the number of sheets of a nominated size printed with alternative sizes computed on a proportional basis (i.e. ONE A2 print produced on a T3000 or T3200 = HALF a sheet);

Express Warranty Terms
Epson New Zealand offers an Onsite Express Warranty on your Product subject to the following conditions.


Epson New Zealand warrants that your Product will be free from any defect in materials or workmanship for one (1) year (or, in case of a Quality Refurbished Product, for six (6) months unless otherwise advised by Epson) after your Purchase Date, extendable up to a maximum of five years. At its discretion, Epson New Zealand will either repair or replace your Product, if it is found on inspection by Epson or a Service Agent to have any such defect within the relevant Express Warranty period.


A Stockist who sells a Product to You has no authority from Epson New Zealand to give You any additional Express Warranty or guarantee in relation to your Product or to make any statement (other than what is contained in the Specifications) about:

  1. a Product's performance or fitness for any specific purpose; and
  2. the currency or application of any Marketing Initiative.

Epson New Zealand will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage claimed to arise from your use of the Product. In particular (but without limitation) Epson New Zealand will not be liable for actual or expected revenue loss or for any corruption or loss of data claimed to arise from your use of the Product.


Express Warranty Claim Procedure
If You wish to make a claim under this Express Warranty, You must do the following:

  1. First call the Stockist from which You purchased your Product to identify and rectify (if possible) any fault.
  2. If the fault cannot be identified and rectified as above, You should call Epson New Zealand on 0800 237 766 for the location of your nearest Service Agent and then provide that Service Agent with satisfactory proof of your Purchase Date, to show that this Express Warranty applies to your Product at the date of your claim
  3. You will be entitled to receive Onsite Express Warranty service, if your Product is located within 80 kilometres of:-
  1. If your Product is located outside this radius, You must, either bear the cost and risk of having your Product delivered to and returned from a Service Agent for Express Warranty service, or pay the Service Agent’s reasonable travel and accommodation costs to provide You with Onsite Express Warranty service
  2. If a Service Agent provides Onsite Express Warranty service but finds that any fault is not directly related to a breach of this Express Warranty, You must pay its current service fee and its reasonable travel and accommodation costs on a return basis (if applicable) to provide You with Onsite Express Warranty service.

Express Warranty Application
This Express Warranty applies only if:

  1. You purchase Product from Epson New Zealand or an authorised Stockist;
  2. You use the Product for your own business purposes;
  3. You operate the Product at its original Location at the time of installation, in a suitable environment, in a suitable environment, in compliance with the Product's environmental requirements as specified by Epson New Zealand;
  4. You use only Genuine Epson Consumable Parts when operating the Product;
  5. You follow the instructions outlined in your user guide for ink loading and usage.

Express Warranty Exclusions
This Express Warranty will not apply if any of the following events occurs during the Warranty period:

  1. A Product's serial number or any rating label is removed or changed in anyway;
  2. A Product is serviced, repaired or modified other than by Epson or its authorised Service Agent;
  3. You use a Product contrary to the technical or operating guidelines recommended in the Epson New Zealand User guide or Manual;
  4. A Product or Component part of your Product, (including but without limitation its waste pads), reaches the end of its Life Expectancy; or
  5. A Product’s malfunction or failure to perform according to Epson New Zealand's Specifications results from:
    1. deliberate or accidental damage;
    2. neglect or modification by or on behalf of an End User;
    3. the use of incorrect voltage or a power surge;
    4. any form of computer virus;
    5. the use of non-Genuine consumables, software, replacement Parts, accessories and/or interfacing; or
    6. any Parts require repair or replacement as a result of normal wear and tear, corrosion or stain.

Spare Parts & Consumable Warranty
For Epson New Zealand, this Warranty applies in addition to the warranties implied by the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.


Spare Parts under $500 - (excluding GST):

Spare Parts over $500 - (excluding GST):

The Spare Parts warranty will apply provided the following conditions are met:

  1. They are purchased and installed by an Epson authorised Service Agent
  2. The Product's Spare Parts are fitted to meets the standard Warranty terms and conditions available from Epson’s website
  3. They are purchased and installed by an Epson authorised Service Agent
  4. You use only Genuine Epson Consumables purchased from an Epson authorised reseller (for items that use Consumables)
  5. At the time of installation of the purchased Spare Parts your Product was not more than five years old from the date of purchase, otherwise the period of warranty will be 90 days.

Consumables
Consumables by their nature have a finite life. The Epson warranty against defects in workmanship or materials is for the lesser of a period of 90 days or the rated life of the Consumable as described in the user’s guide or service manual.


In the case of Lamps for projectors, some Lamps carry a specific Express Warranty for a specific period and this is detailed under our standard product warranty terms and conditions where applicable.


Non-Genuine Items
Epson New Zealand advises that if You use non-genuine Consumables, software, Parts, Consumable Parts or accessories, You may cause damage to your Product that may invalidate this Warranty and You may incur the current cost of Parts, travel and labour for a Service Agent to repair or attempt to repair such damage.


Explanatory Notes:
These following notes form part of Epson's Standard Express Warranty and are to be read in conjunction with the other terms and conditions of this warranty.

9:00am - 10:00pm (Mon to Fri)
11:00am - 8:00pm (Sat & Sun), excluding Public Holidays. Epson may change this period without notice. Upon request and Epson's prior approval, Epson will provide service outside its normal hours of operation at Epson's then-current field service rates.

Epson New Zealandoffers an eight (8) working hour response time on normal business days for Express Warranty repair work on all Large Format Printers


On-Site Service Coverage
Epson New Zealand will perform Onsite Express Warranty repair work within an 80 kilometre radius from its nearest service centre, in the following areas:-
